Primerica Review: Is This a Financial Services Scam?

Primerica was first started over 30 years ago before the dawn of the internet and many years before the tremendous uprise of todays online marketing scams. However, over the years, when Primerica was first sold, bought out, and became a partner of the presently well-known company CitiGroup, a lot of its primary company policies went through some major changes. Moreover, a result of Primerica’s long and well-established history, the companies ability to leverage itself as a potential opportunity primarily in the Northern America country and area.

Primerica Implements MLM To Leverage Company Growth

Essentially Primerica was very well aware that by resorting to means relative to an MLM opportunity, it could begin to play in the big leagues, by using the law of averages and numbers.

By establishing an opportunity, that could potentially compensate its hundreds of thousands of new members, by providing a highly attractive compensatory job thoroughly based on commission on bonuses, Primerica realized it had nothing to lose and so much more to gain.

As a result, its tremendous growth and rise in popularity gave the company the ability to separate from its original parent company CitiGroup, not only allowing Primerica to go public, but to additionally re-create the entire corporate structure that would allow for a 100% home-based opportunity.

Today there are approximately 100,000 Primerica Rep’s based out of both Puerto Rico and North America!

Primerica Customer Ratings And Reviews!

Now given the companies original opportunity that was purely based on the massive selling of term life insurance policies, that was originally only provided as a very direct face-to-face business to consumer type opportunity, it makes sense why they would want to implement an MLM sort of structure. Therefore, regardless of what you may have read about Primerica and its many user-experienced reviews, its highly-expected to see them as highly biased.

First of all, the ability to sell life insurance policies, no matter what company you’re in, is not only very hard, but tolling. It’s a type of opportunity based on one’s own tenacity and doing things, 99% of people would look at as completely unordinary. Usually when starting out, you’re advised to contact all friends, family, and relatives.. to make a list, contact them, and actually try and sell them an insurance policy! I alone, find that to be fairly awkward.

Do You Have The Right Attributes and Energy?

While the opportunity is a truly lucrative one, the average human ability in selling insurance policies requires an overly abundant number of characteristics and attributes.

Even with the unique required ability to properly communicate, you’re required to seek out those who’d be truly willing to purchase a policy from you. Additionally, you are required to instill a great, wonderful sense of trust, seeing as any ordinary family man, or woman will usually seek out an insurance company and policy on their own, or rely on a good friend they may know.

So, why should they trust you?

Well maybe, you have an established life insurance selling reputation!

Or maybe you’re still working on it… Either way, if you compare and look at the immensely distinguishing gap of highly successful Primerica Rep’s versus your average Rep, struggling just to get his or her first client, you’ll notice that the one MAJOR difference is how the rep who’s been successful has established his or her reputation.

Nonetheless, to jump to the conclusion that this person could have possibly jumped through all the initial struggles you may be possibly going through now, using some magical jump rope, is HIGHLY unlikely. They have likely failed again, and again – Repetitively. They have likely heard the terms ‘No’ to ‘Ok maybe…’ about a 1,000 to 1.

How Would You Build And Establish Yourself And Reputation As A Primerica Rep?

Given the fact I’m not much of an insurance guy, though I did it give it a try back in the day, is not to say I can’t give you the right answer! Where I come from, involves a community at large, that includes a wide variety of people from various types of backgrounds. But the main concrete attribute that we all have in common, is our true and inner desire, as self-employed entrepreneurs to build an actual presence for out business.

This business could be anything you want it to be!

Although I have never found an interest in Primerica, that’s not to say it’s a bad idea, or a scam. In-fact, I find their use of MLM tactics to be somewhat of a “Face Uplift” in terms of the life insurance opportunity and career as a whole. As far as I am aware, I don’t believe that companies big such as NY Life, among others have implemented an MLM approach.

This Is A Huge Exception!

Usually, I immediately shake my head when I come across MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) businesses. But I’ve realized the result of that is because they originate out of nothing; usually worthless online products to sell, and many times simply just a way to benefit the people at the top.

In this case, we see a MAJOR difference as Primerica has built itself ground up using legitimate tactics and means for both sides, of the seller, and consumer!

Insurance Is A Hard Sell..

If not done right!

In this case we see Primerica offering you two excellent ways of earning. Thus, you don’t need to rely on selling 20, 30, or 100 life policies a year to random people, who you may likely not really keep a relationship with in the end, usually as a result of not having a true presence for yourself in place.

But what if you did.. have a presence?

Not only would you be able to offer customer service to your clients, not only would be able to instill consistent trust to people looking for life insurance policies by a reliable Primerica rep, not only would you begin to build a substantial reputation for yourself, but will be able to bring your incredible new online business to unseen heights!

One that could potentially be getting you all the calls instead.

No longer having to simply rely upon your cell phone, and stupid long lead sheets, and e-mail addresses to do all the work. No!

Instead my suggestion for you would be to utilize the follow tutorials, in the creation and ranking of your new website… (in the insurance lead and sales business) and boosting your presence, thus allowing you to become a true executive representative within the Primerica Company. Give it a try and see how it works out! Maybe you’ll find yourself ‘owing me one, someday‘ ;)

Primerica-The real numbers! Primerica’s big earners list is not only cumulative back to 1977, but also cumulative by level (ie: a $1M dollar earner also counts as a $100+k and $50+k earner, etc). When you factor out this accumulation, here are the true counts as of 12/31/14. (Primerica “Destiny” Book)

    $50+k earners-3067 reps
    $100+k earners-2845 reps
    $1M+ earners-51 reps
    $2M+ earners-16 reps
    $5M+ earners-1 rep

That is a grand total of only 5980 reps who ever surpassed the $50k level, at least once, during their best 12 month rolling window, including any advances, out of the 100’s of thousands of Reps who’ve ever worked there, since 1977. Many on the list achieved that level only once. For argument sake, assuming the current force of 100,000 reps, it represents a mere 6% who ever achieved “greatness” during at least one best 12 month period, at least once. In reality, its way less than half of that. And those figures are for gross commission revenues (plus advances), BEFORE EXPENSES!

Thanks for sharing these numbers on Primerica Bob. It seems that is the case with every MLM I come across nowadays. It’s only the people at the top who are actually earning any kind of income, while everyone else is usually just stuck at the bottom. Instead of looking at the amount of income the top representatives are earning, it’s much more important to see what the average income is across all Primerica members and that typically never exceeds $100 in monthly income.
