Best Affiliate Programs · September 9, 2019

walking street with boutique stores selling clothing in Canada
Denim is a staple of Canadian style and you can earn from denim fashion affiliate programs for Canada Theres also affiliate programs for sportswear stylish shoes plus sized fashion and sustainable fashion

Finding affiliate programs for Canada is tricky because a lot of the big fashion brands deliver internationally but for shoppers in Canada, unless they’re buying from an e-retailer with a base in Canada to ship any returns to, the return charges can be upwards of $35.

That will affect your earnings as a Canadian affiliate in any fashion niche.

Any program you’re considering joining, check the shipping rates before applying.

A lot of international brands are using .ca domains but they don’t have locations in Canada. Instead, they’re charging high delivery rates and leaving any import taxes up to the customer to pay the bill to receive their goods.

All the fashion affiliate programs listed here have locations in Canada, or in the US with favorable shipping rates and minimum customer hassle.

The Niches in the Fashion Scene

The fashion industry is lucrative when you know who you’re selling to because clothing and fashion apparel represent individual personality.

It’s a way for people to express their individualism.

Professionals need power suits for weekdays and functional fitness wear for working out. People working outdoors and those who hike or go camping will need outerwear clothing and functional footwear.

There’s also people who only buy ethically sourced clothing.

Consider Meghan Merkle who spent most of her working life in Toronto, Canada before marrying Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex is now prominent on fashion magazines with a reputation for sustainable fashion, which is becoming more of a market than a niche.

One of the longest-running sustainable fashion stores in Canada is Canada Goose, which concentrates on outdoor wear for film crews because it’s needed in colder parts of the country. They have a very transparent page on their site explaining their policy.

That’s also a good example of how to niche down to focus on one type of clothing for a very specific group. Outdoor clothing for film crews.

The information on the page linked above is a sample of what people consider when thinking about clothing items because of the huge textile waste volume.

Fashion Website Ideas

  • Plus-sized fashion
  • Men’s urban style
  • Denim only clothing (extremely popular in Canada)
  • Sustainable fashion

In addition to the broader categories above, there’s potential topical blogs and websites that focus on topics such as outdoor hiking guides, fishing, photography, or mountain sports.

Due to how large the overall market size is, there’s massive potential to integrate a number of Canadian fashion affiliate programs into many niche sites.

An upside to the revenue share is that it’s super easy to get started. You can refer people to ShopStyle.ca, and there’s also partnerships in place for social media promoters.

You can start on social platforms without a website, provided you have an audience. Don’t stay long at this phase though because websites have far higher earning potential.
